About the Unit

As a staff assistant at the Exercise Planning and Cooperation Department (A79), you will be part of a solution-oriented team supporting C F 16 in exercise planning and cooperation at local and regional levels to achieve tactically desirable effects. As part of the department, you will learn a lot about how an air wing operates and have the opportunity to build a large network both within and outside the unit. This can be an advantage for you if you are interested in furthering your education within the Swedish Armed Forces (FM) to become a specialist officer or officer. The wing staff is the unit that prepares and orders the commander’s tasks to directly subordinate units.

Main Tasks of the Exercise Planning and Cooperation Department (A79)

The main tasks of the Exercise Planning and Cooperation Department (A79) are to plan exercises at the unit level, coordinate and conduct parts of C F 16 cooperation at regional and local levels with actors within total defense. The department leads the unit's audits within military aviation and drives the quality work and communication of the operations. As a staff assistant, you will be part of a team that, together with other parts of the wing staff, supports C F 16.

Main Responsibilities

As a staff assistant, you will support planning and execution through administrative support such as orders, shopping carts, bookings, taking minutes, etc. You will work on preparing materials for C A79 but also support and cooperate with other departments within the wing staff. The position also means that you are part of the staff in the combat unit and should be able to operate in the role of staff assistant and report receiver.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Approved military service or basic military training
  • Good experience with Microsoft Office
  • Express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

You take responsibility for your tasks, work independently when required, and find it easy to collaborate with others. MERITORIOUS

  • Driving license B
  • Relevant experience from the Swedish Armed Forces, preferably the Air Force
  • Service within a staff or management group
  • Knowledge of the SAP/PRIO system.

Employment form: Fixed-term employment according to GSS/K agreement (6 years with the possibility of extension up to 12 years). The Swedish Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.

Employment rate: Full-time

Work location: Uppsala. F 16 also has operations in other locations, which may involve occasional business trips.

Working hours: Mainly daytime. Evening and weekend work may occur during exercise activities.

Start date: As soon as possible or as agreed.

Salary: We apply individual salary setting.

Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and surveillance of Uppsala airport as well as training conscripts in various positions in the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which directs combat aircraft in the air and maintains constant surveillance of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several locations across the country and constitutes an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is undergoing.
